Portfolio websites for photographers and creatives

As a creative, your work sells you. But a lot of portfolio websites get in the way of the work. Slow galleries, cluttered templates, images squashed into tiny thumbnails and contact pages nobody can find. Clients scroll for a few seconds, get bored waiting for photos to load and leave.

I'm Aldrian, an independent developer and designer. I build portfolio websites for photographers, videographers, graphic designers, illustrators, makeup artists, stylists, musicians and other creatives that put your work front and center and make it easy for the right clients to book you.

What a creative portfolio should do

Show your best work first

Not everything. Your best. A tight, curated selection shows your eye better than a long archive. The home page should make your style obvious in a single scroll.

Organize work the way clients think

Weddings, portraits, events, products, food, real estate, fashion, branding, motion, editorial. Clients usually look for one kind of work, so clear categories help them find it fast.

Tell the story behind projects

For designers and videographers especially, a short write-up of the brief, the idea and the result shows how you think, not just what it looked like. That's what wins bigger projects.

Make booking easy

Packages or starting rates if you choose to show them, availability, an inquiry form that asks the right questions and quick ways to reach you on Messenger, Viber, WhatsApp or email.

Galleries that look sharp and load fast

This is where most portfolio sites fail. Photographers upload huge images straight from Lightroom, and the site takes ages to load, especially on mobile data.

I build galleries properly:

  • Every image is resized for each screen size, so phones don't download desktop files
  • Modern image formats keep files small without visible quality loss
  • Images below the fold load only when needed
  • Layouts keep the original aspect ratio, so nothing gets awkwardly cropped
  • Lightbox viewing for full-screen detail

The result is a portfolio that looks stunning on a big monitor and still loads quickly on a phone. Speed also helps you show up in search. More on website speed optimization.

Video without the weight

For videographers, embedding video badly can make a site painfully slow. I load video players only when someone clicks play, use lightweight preview images and keep the page fast. Your reel still gets the spotlight.

Features I can build

  • Curated portfolio galleries with categories
  • Project or story pages
  • Packages and pricing pages, if you want them
  • Inquiry and booking forms with date checks
  • Online booking for sessions or consultations
  • Private client galleries for proofing and downloads
  • Password-protected pages for clients or agencies
  • Blog or journal for behind-the-scenes posts
  • Instagram feed embedded lightly, without slowing the site
  • Testimonials you've actually received, with permission

Private client galleries

Many photographers want a private space for clients to view, select and download photos. I can build simple private galleries with password or link access, favorites for selecting photos and download options. If you already use a gallery service you like, I can integrate it cleanly instead.

Your brand, not a template

Templates make creatives look alike. I design your site around your style, whether that's bright and airy, dark and moody, bold and graphic or quiet and minimal. Typography, spacing and motion are chosen to match your work, not compete with it.

Being found by clients

People search for things like "wedding photographer Tagaytay," "product photographer Manila" or "brand designer for startups." To show up:

  • Each service has its own page with a clear title and description
  • Image alt text describes your work properly
  • Location pages for the areas you actually serve
  • Structured data for your business
  • Fast pages, because speed affects rankings

Common mistakes on creative portfolios

Instagram as your only portfolio. It's a great place to be discovered, but you don't control it, and it doesn't let you tell a full story or show packages. Your website does.

No prices and no guidance. You don't have to publish full rates, but "packages start at" or a short explanation of how you price helps filter serious clients.

Contact page with only an email address. A form that asks for the date, location, type of shoot and budget range gives you what you need to reply properly the first time.

Music that autoplays. Please don't. Visitors leave.

Out-of-date work. If your newest project is from years ago, clients wonder if you're still active. Make adding new work easy so you actually do it.

Who I work with

How we'd work

  1. We talk about your work, your style and the clients you want more of.
  2. You get a quote with scope, timeline and fixed price.
  3. We curate your best work together.
  4. I design and build, sharing preview links.
  5. We refine until it feels like you.
  6. We launch, and I show you how to add new work.
