Designers and agencies often have a beautiful design and no reliable developer to build it. Or the developer they used delivered something that looks "close enough" on desktop and falls apart on phones, with wrong fonts, broken spacing and none of the small details that made the design special.
I'm Aldrian, an independent developer with a designer's eye. I build websites from Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop, PDF and Canva designs, matching them closely and making them work properly on every screen.
What I build from your design
- Static or hand-coded websites, the fastest and simplest option
- Custom WordPress themes, so your team can edit content in a familiar editor
- React or Next.js front ends, for web apps and interactive sites
- Shopify or WooCommerce themes, for online stores
- Landing pages for campaigns and launches
- Email-friendly versions of key designs, when needed
Close to the design, where it counts
I pay attention to the things that make a design feel finished:
- Typography: the right fonts, weights, sizes, line heights and letter spacing
- Spacing: consistent margins and padding, following the design's rhythm
- Colors and effects: exact colors, shadows, borders and gradients
- Images: properly cropped, optimized and sharp on high-resolution screens
- States: hover, focus, active and disabled states for buttons and links
- Motion: transitions and animations that match the designer's intent, with respect for visitors who prefer reduced motion
Responsive, even when the design isn't
Many designs come with only a desktop version, or desktop and mobile with nothing in between. Real visitors use every size in between: small phones, large phones, tablets, laptops and wide monitors.
I fill the gaps thoughtfully. Layouts adapt naturally between the designed sizes, and I'll raise questions where a design decision isn't clear on smaller screens, instead of guessing badly. More on responsive development.
Accessible by default
Designs don't always show accessibility details, but a good build includes them:
- Proper headings and page structure
- Keyboard navigation and visible focus states
- Alt text for meaningful images
- Labels for forms and clear error messages
- Color contrast checks, with suggestions if something's too faint
More on accessibility.
Fast, not just pretty
A design can look perfect and still be slow if it's built carelessly. I optimize images, load fonts efficiently, avoid unnecessary scripts and keep the code lean. The finished site should look like the design and feel instant.
Working with designers and agencies
I enjoy working with designers. To make it smooth:
- I'll review the file before quoting and flag anything unclear
- I'll ask about intended behavior for menus, sliders, forms and animations
- I'll share preview links early so you can check the build against the design
- I'll keep components consistent, so updates later are easy
- I can work under your agency's name and process if needed
If the design is still in progress, I'm happy to give developer feedback early to avoid expensive surprises later.
From PDF or Canva? That's fine
Not every business has a Figma file. If you have a PDF, a Canva mockup, a PowerPoint or even a sketch, I can work from it. Some details will need decisions during the build, and I'll guide you through them. If you need more design help, see my UI/UX design page.
Real work
The Origin Code Technology website is one I designed and built in WordPress, with a bold hero, clear calls to action, a services section and responsive layouts throughout. When I measured it in Lighthouse on desktop, it scored 100 for SEO, 96 for best practices and 93 for accessibility.
What I need from you
- The design file, with access to inspect it if it's in Figma
- Fonts and licenses, if they're not free fonts
- Images and icons in good quality, or permission to export them
- Notes on interactions and any content management needs
- Your preferred platform, or I'll recommend one
Common problems with design handoffs
Missing mobile designs. I'll adapt responsibly and confirm key decisions with you.
Fonts without web licenses. Some desktop fonts can't legally be used on websites. I'll flag it early.
Text baked into images. It's slow, not accessible and invisible to search engines. I'll rebuild it as real text.
Placeholder content. Lorem ipsum hides layout problems. Real content, even rough drafts, helps.
No hover or error states. I'll create sensible ones that match the design language.
Built to be edited later
A design is a moment in time. Content changes, new pages get added and campaigns come and go. I build with reusable components, like hero sections, feature grids, cards and calls to action, so new pages can be assembled from pieces that already match the design. That keeps the site consistent long after launch, even when someone other than the original designer adds content.
How we'd work
- Send me the design and tell me where it'll live.
- I review and ask questions.
- You get a quote with scope, timeline and fixed price.
- I build and share preview links early.
- We compare against the design and refine details.
- We launch, and I hand over clean code and documentation.
