Online travel platforms are great at bringing guests to you. They're also expensive. Every booking that comes through them carries a commission, and those commissions add up fast over a busy season.
Your own website is the one channel where you keep the full rate. But it only works if booking direct is easy. If guests can't find your rates, see your rooms properly or book without sending three messages, they'll go back to the platform and book there.
I'm Aldrian, an independent web developer in the Philippines. I build hotel, resort, inn and private pool websites that make booking direct simple.
Why guests book on platforms instead of your site
When I review hospitality websites, the same reasons come up:
- No rates shown. "Message us for rates" sends guests back to a site that shows prices instantly.
- Slow photo galleries. Huge images make pages crawl on mobile data.
- No clear availability. Guests don't know if their dates are open.
- Too many steps to book. Long forms, unclear deposits or no confirmation.
- No reason to book direct. No perk, no better rate and no personal touch.
Fixing those is what a good hotel website is for.
What your website should include
Rooms that sell themselves
Each room or villa gets its own page: real photos, size, bed setup, maximum guests, amenities and rates. Guests should be able to compare rooms quickly.
Clear rates and policies
Starting rates, weekend and holiday rates, extra person fees, check-in and check-out times, deposit and cancellation policies. Clear is better than clever.
A simple booking flow
Depending on your size and budget, I can set up:
- A booking request form with dates, guests and room choice, sent to your email and phone. Good for small inns and private resorts.
- A full booking system with availability calendars, instant confirmations and deposits.
- Your existing booking engine or channel manager connected to a beautiful, fast website.
Payments guests already use
Deposits through GCash, Maya, cards or bank transfer, with clear instructions and confirmations. More on my GCash and Maya payment integration page.
Things to do nearby
Beaches, dive spots, restaurants and tours. Helpful local content gives guests confidence and gives search engines more reasons to show your site.
Getting there
Directions from the airport or terminal, transfer options, parking and a working map.
Built for travelers on their phones
Most guests plan and book on their phones, often on shaky signal. I keep hotel sites fast:
- Images resized and compressed for each screen size
- Galleries that load only when needed
- Light code without heavy sliders or autoplay videos
- Buttons and forms that are easy to use with one thumb
Reaching international guests
Foreign guests may prefer browsing in their own language. I can build multi-language websites with properly set up language versions, so Korean, Japanese, Chinese or European travelers feel at home and search engines show the right version to the right visitor.
Being found on Google
Travelers search for things like "beach resort in La Union with pool" or "hotel near Cebu airport." To show up:
- Each room type and key amenity has its own clear page
- Structured data tells search engines you're a hotel or resort
- Your Google Business Profile is complete and consistent
- Pages load fast and work well on mobile
- Helpful local content answers real traveler questions
For different kinds of properties
Beach and island resorts. Big, beautiful galleries with fast loading, clear transfer info and seasonal rates.
City hotels. Business-friendly pages, meeting room inquiries and easy directions.
Inns, transient houses and homestays. A simple, affordable site with rooms, rates and an inquiry form.
Private pools and event venues. Day and overnight rates, capacity, event packages and a booking calendar.
Honest marketing
I won't add fake reviews or made-up star ratings. If you have genuine reviews on platforms, we can link to them or show real excerpts with permission. Real photos and clear policies build more trust than anything invented.
Giving guests a reason to book direct
A website alone doesn't change booking habits. Guests need a reason. Some ideas that work well, depending on your property:
- A small perk for direct bookings, like free breakfast, early check-in or a welcome drink
- Flexible rebooking for direct guests during typhoon season
- Direct contact with the property before arrival
- Packages you only offer on your own website
Your website should make these perks obvious near the booking button. Combined with clear rates and a fast, simple booking form, they give guests a real reason to skip the platform.
Working with the platforms, not against them
Online travel platforms still matter for discovery. Many guests find you there first, then search your name to learn more. When they land on your website, it should look better, load faster and make booking easier than the listing they came from. That's how a good website quietly shifts bookings over time without you having to leave the platforms.
How we'd work
- Tell me about your property. Rooms, rates, how bookings come in today.
- Get a quote. Scope, timeline and fixed price.
- I build and share preview links as pages come together.
- We test booking, payments and pages on phones.
- We launch, and I show you how to update rates, rooms and promos.
Let's get you more direct bookings
Tell me about your hotel or resort. I'll reply with a plan and a fixed quote.
