Accounting is a trust business. Clients hand you their numbers, their tax filings and sometimes the future of their company. Before they do, they want to know you're organized, professional and easy to work with. Your website is often where they decide.
I'm Aldrian, an independent web developer in the Philippines. One of the projects in my portfolio is a full WordPress revamp for National Business Concepts, an accounting and consulting firm in Oklahoma City. The firm needed a website that explains what they do at a glance, introduces the people behind the work and makes it easy for new clients to get in touch. That's exactly what most accounting firms need.
What I learned rebuilding an accounting firm's website
The National Business Concepts project taught me what clients of accounting firms actually look for:
- Services grouped clearly. We split everything into accounting, consulting and training, so visitors could find their need in seconds.
- Real people. A team page showing every role helped visitors understand who they'd be working with.
- Easy contact. Address, email and phone were placed where people expect them, on every page.
- Responsive everywhere. Business owners check websites on their phones between meetings, so every layout was built for small screens too.
- Workshops and articles. Educational content shows expertise and gives people a reason to come back.
What your accounting firm website should include
Services explained simply
Bookkeeping, tax preparation and filing, BIR compliance, payroll, audit and assurance, business registration, financial statements, advisory and consulting. Each service should have a clear page explaining what's included and who it's for, without jargon.
Who you serve
Freelancers and professionals, small businesses, startups, corporations, nonprofits or foreign companies setting up in the Philippines. Clear audience pages help the right clients see themselves.
Your team and credentials
CPAs and staff with real photos and accurate credentials. Clients want to know who's handling their books.
Packages, if you offer them
Some firms publish monthly bookkeeping packages. Others quote case by case. If you publish packages, I'll make them easy to compare and update.
A simple way to start
A consultation request or booking form, plus clear contact details.
Secure document handling
Accounting clients send sensitive documents: financial statements, receipts, IDs and tax forms. Email attachments are not ideal for this. I can build:
- Secure upload forms where clients send documents directly to protected storage
- A client portal where clients log in to upload files, see requests and download reports
- Automatic reminders for deadlines and missing documents
All of this runs over HTTPS with proper access controls, and in line with the Data Privacy Act. I'll handle the technical side and recommend your firm reviews its privacy notice.
Content that brings in clients
Business owners search for answers before they search for an accountant. Questions like "how to file quarterly taxes as a freelancer" or "what books of accounts does a small business need." A resources or articles section lets you answer those questions, show expertise and attract the right clients. I'll set up an easy way for your team to publish.
Being found in search
People search for "bookkeeping services Pasig," "tax consultant for freelancers" or "accounting firm for startups Cebu." To show up:
- Dedicated pages for each service and audience
- Structured data for professional services
- A complete Google Business Profile
- Fast, mobile-friendly pages
- Helpful articles that answer real questions
Features I can build
- Service, audience and team pages
- Consultation booking with calendar integration
- Secure document upload forms
- Client portal with logins
- Deadline reminders by email
- Articles and resources section
- Workshop and event pages with registration
- Newsletter sign-up
Mistakes I see on accounting firm websites
Listing every service in one long paragraph. Visitors scan. Grouping services into clear categories, the way we did with accounting, consulting and training, lets people find their need in seconds.
No faces. A firm that hides its team feels anonymous. Clients want to know who will be reading their numbers.
Contact details buried in the footer. Your phone, email and address should be easy to reach from any page, especially on a phone.
Outdated tax content. Articles about rules that changed years ago hurt your credibility. Dated posts and a simple way to update or archive them solve that.
Asking for documents by email. It's convenient until a sensitive file goes to the wrong address. Secure uploads protect you and your clients.
Starting simple
You don't need a portal on day one. Many firms start with a clean website, clear service pages and a consultation form, then add secure uploads or a client area once the basics are working. I'll help you decide what's worth building now and what can wait, so the first version fits your budget and still looks complete.
How we'd work
- We talk about your services, clients and how they come to you.
- You get a quote with scope, timeline and fixed price.
- We organize content together, including services, team and FAQs.
- I build and share preview links.
- We test forms, uploads and pages on phones and desktops.
- We launch, and I show your team how to manage content.
