A lot of Filipino clothing brands start on Instagram, Facebook and marketplaces. That's a smart way to begin. But as the brand grows, the limits show up: orders scattered across DMs, stock counts that don't match, marketplace fees eating into margins and no real place that feels like your brand.
Your own online store fixes that. It's where your brand looks the way you want, customers order without waiting for a reply and you keep more of every sale.
I'm Aldrian, an independent web developer in the Philippines. I build and fix online stores, including WooCommerce and Shopify setups, for clothing and fashion brands that want to sell directly.
What fashion shoppers need from your store
Great product pages
Several photos per product, including on-model shots and close-ups of the fabric, plus fit notes, materials, care instructions and the model's size. Shoppers can't touch the clothes, so your product page has to answer every question.
Clear sizes and variants
Size and color selection that's obvious on a phone, sold-out sizes clearly marked and a size guide that's actually useful, with measurements in centimeters and inches. A good size guide reduces returns and exchange headaches.
Fast mobile browsing
Most of your shoppers come from social media on their phones. Collection pages need to load fast and look great on a small screen.
Local payments
GCash, Maya, cards, bank transfer and, if you offer it, cash on delivery. If a shopper's preferred method isn't there, many simply leave. More on GCash and Maya integration.
Clear shipping and returns
Shipping fees by area, delivery times and a simple exchange or return policy shown before checkout, not after.
Built for drops and launches
Many clothing brands sell through limited drops. That creates its own challenges:
- Traffic spikes. Hundreds of shoppers arriving at the same minute. The store has to stay fast and up.
- Accurate stock. No overselling when two people buy the last piece at the same time.
- Countdown and launch pages. Building excitement before the drop and switching on sales at the right time.
- Waitlists. Collecting emails for restocks and next drops.
I set stores up so drops run smoothly, and I test them before the big day.
Keeping stock accurate
If you sell on your website, marketplaces and in pop-ups, stock gets messy fast. I can help with:
- One inventory that updates across channels where the platforms allow it
- Low-stock alerts
- Clean variant setup so every size and color is tracked properly
- Imports from spreadsheets for large catalogs

Shopify or WooCommerce?
Both can work well for fashion brands.
Shopify is easier to run day to day, with hosting and security handled for you. You pay a monthly subscription and app fees.
WooCommerce gives you more control and no platform subscription, but you need reliable hosting and regular maintenance.
I've done serious work on WooCommerce, including a design revamp and a PHP upgrade from 7.4 to 8.4 on a live store where checkout and subscriptions had to keep working throughout. I'll recommend the platform that fits your size, budget and how hands-on you want to be.
Your brand, front and center
A fashion store should feel like your brand, not a default theme. I design around your look: lookbook-style collection pages, editorial banners for campaigns, typography that matches your identity and product grids that let the clothes shine.
Common mistakes on fashion stores
Only one product photo. Shoppers want to see the front, back, details and how it fits on a real person. One flat photo isn't enough.
No size guide or a useless one. "S, M, L" without measurements leads to wrong sizes and returns.
Checkout that asks for an account. Let people check out as guests. Offer accounts after the first order.
Slow pages from huge images. Raw photos straight from the camera make collection pages painfully slow. I optimize every image.
Policies hidden in the footer. Shipping fees and exchange rules should be visible on the product and cart pages.
Features I can build
- Collection and lookbook pages
- Product pages with galleries, variants and size guides
- Local payments, COD and shipping rates by area
- Discount codes, bundles and free shipping thresholds
- Drop countdowns and waitlists
- Restock notifications
- Customer accounts and order tracking
- Reviews you've actually received
- Email marketing integration for abandoned carts and launches
Selling on your site and on marketplaces
You don't have to choose. Marketplaces are good for discovery, and your own store is where loyal customers buy, where your brand looks its best and where you keep more of each sale. The goal is to make your own store the easiest place to order, with exclusive drops, early access for subscribers or member perks that give shoppers a reason to come straight to you.
