Filipino virtual assistants and freelancers work with clients all over the world. Many start on freelancing platforms, and that's a smart place to begin. But platforms take a cut, set the rules and make it hard to stand out among thousands of profiles. Your own website changes the conversation: clients find you, see your proof and contact you directly.
I'm Aldrian, a Filipino independent developer, and a freelancer myself. I build websites for virtual assistants, VA agencies, bookkeepers, social media managers, writers, designers, editors and other freelancers. A starter site is ₱6,000 a year, all-in for Philippine pricing, or $99 a year on my worldwide package. Both include your domain and hosting for the first year.
What clients look for when hiring a VA or freelancer
What you do
Admin support, inbox and calendar management, customer service, bookkeeping, social media, lead generation, data entry, research, design, writing, video editing or tech support. Be specific about what you're great at.
Who you work with
Real estate agents, coaches, e-commerce sellers, agencies, startups or medical practices. A clear niche helps the right clients recognize you.
Proof
Client testimonials you've actually received, used with permission, samples of your work, tools you're skilled in and certifications you hold.
Availability and communication
Your time zone overlap, working hours, response times and the tools you use, like Slack, Asana or Google Workspace.
Rates or packages
Hourly rates, monthly retainers or packages. Showing starting rates filters out clients who aren't a fit.
A way to book
A discovery call link or contact form.
How the four-page starter fits a freelancer
The package includes up to 4 pages:
- Home: who you help, what you do and a "Book a call" button
- Services: what's included, how you work and starting rates
- About and proof: your story, tools, testimonials and samples
- Contact: a short form and your scheduling link
Extra pages, such as a portfolio or a page per service, are ₱1,500 or $25 each.
What's included
- Up to 4 hand-coded pages
- A .com or .net domain and hosting for the first year, so you can use yourname.com
- Mobile-friendly layout
- A contact form
- Basic SEO setup
- 3 revision rounds
- Ready in 5 to 7 business days after I receive your content
Details are on the ₱6,000 package page and the $99 package page.
Your own domain matters
An email and website on your own domain, like you@yourname.com, looks far more professional than a free email address and a platform profile link. The package includes a .com or .net domain for the first year. Business email is set up separately with a provider like Google Workspace.
Platforms and your website, together
Keep your platform profiles. Use your website to:
- Send prospects a professional link from LinkedIn, Facebook groups and cold outreach
- Show richer samples and longer testimonials than a profile allows
- Win direct clients without platform fees, while following each platform's rules about clients you met there
VA agencies
If you run a small VA team, your website should show your services, how you match assistants to clients, your vetting process and how billing works. The starter package covers a focused agency site. Client portals, timesheets or onboarding systems need a custom quote.
Common mistakes on freelancer websites
Trying to do everything. A focused offer wins better clients.
No proof. Even one strong testimonial or sample beats a long list of skills.
No rates or process. Clients want to know how working with you looks.
Free domain or no domain. Your own name as a domain builds trust.
No clear call to action. Every page should lead to booking a call.
Getting found
Clients search "real estate virtual assistant Philippines," "Filipino bookkeeper for small business" or "social media VA for coaches." The basic SEO setup gives your pages focused titles and descriptions and keeps the site fast. Writing a few helpful posts about your niche, added as extra pages, can bring steady search traffic over time.
